Visitor Visa also known as  Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is an official document placed in a person’s passport to show to Canadian authorities that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (visitor).

Apart from some visa-exempt counties, foreign national  countries need to obtain a Temporary Resident Visa before they can enter Canada

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) grants a short time period stay in Canada for the applicants with any of travel, visit friends and family, or student or temporary worker purposes.  For long term purposes other programs are organize to assist your migration to Canada.  If you are transiting through or are coming to Canada for business purposes, not as a temporary foreign worker, you must apply for a  business visitor visa. If foreign nationals from visa-exempt countries wish to visit Canada by air, they require a valid electronic travel authorization (eTA). If they choose to visit by land or by sea, they only require their valid passport with an  exception of United States citizens.
