Latest Express Entry Draw 258

The Express Entry (EE) organizes and processes applications for people who wish to immigrate to Canada and acquire Canadian permanent residence. Express Entry is not an immigration by itself, rather it’s an online system that manages applications sent to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) department. The system manages three Canadian immigration programs:

Candidate profiles under the Canadian Express Entry system are ranked against each other according to a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The candidates with the highest ranking scores in the Express Entry draw will be considered for an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence.

These invitations are issued by the federal government on a regular basis.

THE LATEST EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW 258 - JULY 12, 2023

The IRCC issued 3,800 invitations to applicants in the Express Entry draw 258. Applicants having a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System  Score (CRS) of 375 received an Invitation to Apply (ITA). This Express Entry Draw was a category-based draw in strong French Language proficiency.

According to the tie-breaking rule, candidates who created their profile before June 15, 2023, at 23:49:05 UTC Tuesday,  were prioritized.

The draw held today was the 22nd for Express Entry in 2023 and the sixth of July. Today’s draw is the second French Language category-specific draw since the IRCC launched category-specific draws. When compared to the first-ever category-specific in French-language proficiency, that took place last Friday, 2300 candidates were invited, and the CRS score was 439. The CRS cut-off score has decreased by 64 points.

Yesterday’s draw was an all-programs Express Entry draw in which 800 candidates were issued an invitation to Apply and the minimum CRS cut-off score was 505, which was the second highest this month.

Other draws in the last week, included a surprise all-program draw held on July 04, where 700 applicants received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and the minimum score was 511.

on July 06, another category-specific draw in healthcare occupations was held and IRCC issued 1500 candidates  ITA and the cut-off score of 463.

Also, another first-ever category-specific draw in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations was held on July 05, and 500 candidates were issued an ITA by the IRCC, the cut-off CRS score was 486.

Express Entry Category-Specific Draws

Express Entry category-specific draws / occupation-specific draws are express entry draws that enable the IRCC to issue Letter Invitation to Apply (ITA) to candidates with talents, skills and jobs that are most in demand in Canada.

There are six new categories for which candidates may be eligible:

  • Healthcare
  • Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • Trades such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • Transport
  • Agriculture and agri-food
  • Strong French-language proficiency

Additionally, category-specific draws can be helpful to candidates because the cut-off score in the selected categories can probably be lower than in all-program daws.

Applicants must have completed at least six months of continuous employment in one of the listed occupations within the previous three years in order to qualify under the category-specific categories. You can obtain this experience in Canada or abroad.
